Connect250 is a limited-time project created with NPR’s Morning Edition that brings Americans together for guided conversations honoring the 250th anniversary of the United States.

Through conversation, listening, and shared stories, participants will help create a time capsule of American voices and experiences at this milestone moment in American history.

The project runs from July 7 through August 31.

Participants are matched with another American for a guided 40-minute online video conversation focused on sharing stories and experiences from their lives.

Participants are matched across different regions and ZIP codes to encourage conversations with someone from another community or part of the country.

Yes. You can keep your conversation private or choose to include it in the StoryCorps archive at the Library of Congress.

Participants may choose to preserve their conversations in the StoryCorps Archive at the Library of Congress, helping document this moment in America’s story for future generations.

Yes. You only need to sign up once, and you can return to your dashboard anytime, to schedule additional conversations. Click the "review matches" buttons in your emails or text messages to revisit your dashboard.

To increase your chances of getting matched and having a conversation, we suggest reaching out to multiple potential conversation partners and offering several times and dates.

If you don’t hear back, you can use the “Refresh Your Partners” button on your Match Status Dashboard to find more responsive partners.

Anyone who signs up before the project closes will still be matched after August 31. StoryCorps will continue connecting eligible participants already in the queue.
